I have been on the diet for approximatly 4 weeks. I have lost some inches ( not sure how much, not designate ), but no weight. I did lose about 5 - 7 lbs the first 10 days, and now am at a total stall. In actuality, some days I am up a pound or two. I don ' t cheat hardly at all. I have had a couple of small chocalate kisses a few days ago, but other than that, nothing. I have cut out my coffee, soda intake, etc..... drank so much water I am living in the bathroom and no change!! I do work out 5 - 6 days a week, but shouldn ' t I still lose SOME weight?? I have read and re - read the posts concerning the stall around 4 weeks, and the retention of water, etc. But, when do you see the results of all of the hard work? HELP!!

Well, you are getting results - you lose inches, don ' t you?
Scale is not your friend - it lies. There is an meritorious article about it in the FAQs, check it out: http: / / lowcarbsite. com / forum / viewtopic. php? t=3897

Aww try to hang in there!! It will happen!! Often it picks up again around weeks 5 or 6. Just remember that your body is busy making a lot of internal changes, and while you may not see those results on the scale, there ARE some good things going on inside. I know it can get discouraging, but for now since you ' ve noticed how much better your clothes are fitting, try to rejoice in that - it ' s proof that you are indeed on the road to success!! Those ARE results! [ / icon_biggrin. gif].
Try not to apprehension - it ' ll happen - one day the " whoosh " fairy will come along and visit you and then you ' ll be several pounds lighter all the sudden!!
Brightest Blessings,
Lisa

The posters before me are right on mark. Maybe increase your water intake? Also maybe exercise a little more. The important thing is don ' t get discouraged and keep up the good work. The weight will come off.

I am having the same experience as well. I ' m getting rather frustrated. However, I am not gonna quite. I remember my first time on this diet, I lost 10 pounds, to 173, real quick, but then took FOREVER to finally break below that 173. I don ' t think I even changed anything. I just think ONE DAY, I weighed 171, and then from that point on I lost weight to 163, stalled there, then broke. I would like some advice on what I might be doing wrong versus what I am doing right, however. I know that it ' s about the inches and not the weight. IN fact, I have already posted messages in that regard, but if you are losing fat inches, you have to be losing weight. We ' ll see what this week brings.

hello! I started Atkins on Jan 8 / 08 and this forum has been soooo helpful! It is really frustrating to stall or see the scale go up again, but knowing that I ' m neither unique or alone gives me alot of strength to keep focused. I ' ve been able to correct some of my rather naive mistakes by reading through all of your insightful posts, so thankyou!.... perseverance!

I know that we lose 10 pounds ( or so ) quick, because it ' s water weight. I bet the STALL is a biochemical event... The body is TRYING ITS HARDEST to hold onto the fat reservers, and it takes TIME to break the body of it ' s GRIP. just a though.
