Had a busy weekend sailing... and a friend came up to crew, introduced me to a new product available...
Microwave Pork Rinds! ~! " Lowrey ' s Bacon Curls " Our store has them in the section with microwave popcorn.
They are fantastic. Fresh, hot and the best of light crunch, seasoned and tasty. Eating fresh pork rinds makes them into an entirely different experience! ~
If your store doesn ' t move them, buy them online:
www. lowreys. com
http: / / www. store. yahoo. com / snackshop / baconcurls11. html
Unfortunately, the site doesn ' t vessel them internationally... [ / icon_sad. gif]
My find for the month!

They sound positively yummy. I ' d like to try them out but first I ' d like to know the ingredients. Does it look like the ingredients are pretty natural or pumped full of preservatives? [ / icon_wink. gif]

Lowrey ' s Microwave PorkRinds:
Pork Rinds, Salt, Maltodextrin, MSG, Flavorings, Dextrin
Per Serving: Calories 60, Fat 2g, Cholesterol 5mg, Sodium 350 mg, Carbs <1g ( I count it as 1g anyway ) Protein 9g
To compare.. I had two other brands of pork rinds handy..
Misson Chicharrones ( distributed out of Irving, TX ) has 80 calories, 270 mg of Sodium and the only ingredients are Pork Rinds and Salt
My other fav brand is " Turkey Creek Snacks ' out of Thomaston, Georgia ( they have a website.. www. turkeycreeksnacks. com ) has comparable calorie and sodium counts but a list of ingredients MUCH longer and includes citric acid, corn starch and colorings.
and now I think I ' ve gone PorkRind overboard!! LOL

ROFLMAO~!!! NLady, I was thinking of you when I jumped into this... but it was just tooo great of a find not to share. I ' ve been expecting the devotion of Teuthis to strike any moment... hehehehehe
I only found them because of a friend visiting from another city. Baby doll checks groceries, and had only learned about the product from people buying them. Tomato suggested to her store manager that they put a display near the Atkins products and sales skyrocketed!
We went to the store here, and just walking around, saw SO many baskets with those " tell tale " items.... DietRites, Heavy Cream, Pork Rinds and meats.... and she related that it ' s become a new thinking of this particular chain to meet the desires of their customer base.
Meanwhile, I asked the Organic Foods Manager about getting SoySlender, and got a lecture instead on how she didn ' t think all these Atkins products belonged in her section to start with... and as she talked, my eyes rolled to the HUGE collection of SlimFast... lol...
Collective spending dollars do drive markets. Just look... we ' ve got microwave pork rinds now! ~ Fresh, hot and delightfully fun to eat.

Great post about merchanizing, Susan.
Finally found a local ( 20 miles away ) Kroger who carries Soy Slender. Oh my - I arrived, the empty crate was still in the aisle and the shelves only had 6 quarts left! Of course I grabbed them ( I agree with LoriAnn - the cappuchino is GREAT! )
Anyway, the sign on the " health food " aisle directed people to low carb products saying " these items ALSO have no sugar! " Clever, hu?

Susan,
Thanks for the info on the microwave pork rinds. Did they give you an idea of how many servings per bag. To make sure to count these correctly, I want to make sure I look at the serving size and the 1g per serving.
