i don ' t know what happened to me. everytime i hit that one month mark.. i go crazy.. and it always makes me feel terrible, emotionally and physically, but yet for some reason.. i conclude to fail. I have successfully gained back a lot of the weight i lost, in 5 days! How can this be? I know.. i pigged out disgustingly on bad bad foods. I am so disappointed in myself and so angry and i have no one to blame but myself. I look at myself in the copy and feel nothing but digust right now. The show is 2 1 / 2 months away and here I am.. concluding that i just threw away a month of time! Well tomorrow I will have to start over again. I can ' t help but [ / icon_cry. gif] thinking that i came so far.. and yet in a slab of the time, ended up almost back where i started. I just haven ' t found the right kind of motivation. I know that the pageant should be the motivation, but its not.. and i want to look so good and lose so much weight.. but it still doesnt seem to cause me. sorry this is such a long story. im just so disappointed in myself.. and i feel that you all are the only ones who understand.. given the gospel that no one around my house or my friends support how i am picking to lose weight.. so it gets hard and discouraging at times. I step on the scale and it says i gained 8 lbs, but the clothes are still loose and the same.. so maybe there is still hope. I am still learning from this mess - up.. and i know what you are all going to say [ / icon_wink. gif] but i just have to be even stronger this time.. and just DO IT! Thanks for listening

Take it easy, Christine, most of what you gained is probably waterweight - carbs stored in the body bind a lot of water in. Be good about Induction, don ' t concern and best of luck with the parade!

We all have our dodgy patches ( exclude for a few who operate with machine - like dedication ie. Teuthis! ) so don ' t care too much about it. Just jump back on that horse and keeping going. I ' m back to day 2 of Induction again after a dodgy spell where I gained 8lbs, but like has been mentioned its probably just water weight. And if your clothes are still loose then maybe the scales are fibbing.

Well Christine, the important thing is that you have the motivation to start over instead of just giving up. That, in my opionion, counts for something. Put the past behind you and start over on induction again, be strong, believe in yourself. If your clothes are still fitting loosly then maybe you havn ' t lost a month after all.
Oh, and you are quite the beautiful gal [ / icon_wink. gif]

Hi Christine,
Well, good for you for fessing up to yourself and acknowledging your slip. Sometimes it ' s just as easy to ignore what had happened and keep slipping until you ' ve done doubly wrong. But, you allowed yourself some downtime and now you ' re back on the wagon.
Listen, I too hit a rough spot this past weekend and consumed more than my share however, it sounds as if you ' re ready to reinforce everything that you have been living by ( food wise ) this past month. And since it ' s most likely water weight it could shed really fast.
Just do your best to stay on track and remember what this all means to yourself. You will be the beauty [ / icon_queen. gif] of the pageant, win or lose, you ' ve got our vote!!
Keep on truckn '

I tried to look on the progress boards to see how much weight you have to lose but I couldn ' t find it, by your avatar it doesn ' t look like alot.
There arn ' t many of us that don ' t have days like this - I ' m 10 lbs away from my goal and haven ' t reached it for the same reasons as you.

An interesting fact that I learned in the lowcarb workshop last weekend. They made special mention of the people within the last 15 to 20 pounds from goal and why it so hard to shed those last few pounds. That for most of us, the closer we come to our goal, the less body fat reserves there is for our body to utilize and if we are still controlling our carbs to a minimum, the body will stubbornly hold on to every last pound to ensure it ' s survival. It made sense. That ' s why the bigger we are, the faster we are able to lose, compared to a person moderately overweight who has more difficulty. Basically if you ' re with reach of your goal, it is best to up your carb intake ( with more high - fiber vegetables ) combined with daily exercise and it will send out the signal that there is ample supply and your body will release the fat guards from duty that will allow you to finally see that long - awaited number on the scale.

well my goal is only 25 lbs to lose because my dr. told me that i was mildly overweight for my height, that and the pageant ( [ / icon_eek. gif] i think that its just hard sometimes because i associate with so many young people my age who have terrible eating habits, who feel that what they eat right now is not an issue.. i wish that they would just realize that it will affect them later on down the road
