5 packets of Equal in one cup?? Damn that ' s sweet!
seriously, you will be fine without it. Your taste buds will change and when you are in induction your sense for what is sweet will also modify. The human body adapts well.
I never thought that I would find dandelion and peppermint tea sweet but I do. I can barely stomach sweet ( low carb ) stuff now. Its the beauty of the diet.
Cut out the coffee for just one week. You won ' t miss it and your body will thank you. [ / icon_cool. gif]

i drank a pot of coffee a day before induction. i refuse to drink decaf. i am now 2 weeks caffeine and sugar free, and i feel better than ever. it ' s entirely possible to kick a coffee ( or other ) addiction if you want to - but if you state that you can ' t or won ' t then you probably won ' t succeed.
it ' s how you passage it, what your optimism level is, your positive / negative outlook, your mindset in future. just keep some ibuprofen handy for the first few days for the headaches. you ' ll notice your energy level is steady all day, as opposed to a caffiene spike for a few hours. don ' t think about what you ' re missing, think of the new options you have. i used to get up on the weekends and say, " i have all these chores to do, but lemme drink this pot of coffee first to get energized. " i seriously would NOT get started until at least noon. today i got up at 7: 15, cleaned my kitchen, started laundry, threw a pot of beans on for the birds ( all by 9: 30 mind you ), ate breakfast, and am getting ready to go to the gas station.
and it ' s true: your taste for sweet will change. i have had a couple diet 7UPs or sierra mist free. wow, those are SWEET when all you have been having is water lol.

how about moderating the coffee intake? Like, for example, drink one of cup of your coffee every 2 days. Then, three days, etc.
I understand that coffee is important to you. There is no need for it to go to waste. Maybe just shelve it for a few months to get to a healthier weight?
Good luck, either way.
My Mom did atkins, was in ketosis, and drank 1 - 2 cups of coffee with cream, ( loads of ) sweetener and davinci syrup every day and lost weight.

Hmm.. I still drink coffee daily. I use Davinci sweetner instead of packets because it has no carbs and packets do. And I used to use a good couple tbs of cream in my coffee but now that I use heavy whipping cream, a little goes a very long way. I used to put 3 - 4 TBS of half and half or coffeemate, now I put 1 teaspoon of heavy cream.

I drink coffee, too. I like to use the Splenda tablets ( no carbs ) and I use heavy cream because, like Barbi said, a little goes a very long way. I use 1 tsp in my big mug of coffee. You can take my chocolate, my yogurt, my wine... but you can ' t have my coffee. [ / icon_wink. gif]
