I was a massive milk drinker before starting atkins. Being a week into the induction, i ' m still missing it majorly.
I was just wondering if anyone else was in this situation also. If so how did you overcome it? and What alternatives did you use?
Thanks

you can have heavy cream ( limited ) but add some to water & stir. There ya go. Just watch to make sure you keep your total heavy cream to the proper levels... i think it ' s like 2 or 3 tablespoons / day. Which should be plenty to add to 8oz or so of water to make " milk " [ / icon_wink. gif].
Personally I save it for my coffee or tea lol. Best of luck!
Brightest Blessings,

I too was missing my milk. I found ( in Trader Joe ' s ) " Almond Breeze " vanilla flavored non - dairy beverage. I really don ' t detect much of an almond taste, but it is an alternative to milk with only 1g. carb per serv. Then I found in my local supermarket ' s health food section, " Soy Slender " soymilk. I got the chocolate flavor. Again, only 1g. net carbs per serv. and very yummy! [ / icon_biggrin. gif] I mix it in a blender with a serving of whey protein & ice to make a shake as a snack either before or after I work out.

I second the Almond Breeze! It ' s fantastic. I used it all the time in the summer to make Starbucks - like frappuchinos.
