There ' s a sticky of the foods allowed on Induction posted on the " induction " page of the site. It also lists the rules of induction.
Welcome and good luck!

The atkins diet always had vegetables in it, its most likely that the first time you followed it you were following a modified apologue of it based on incomplete education of what can and should be eaten on it.
As far as getting atkins to work for you, I can only suggest removing your preconceptions. if you go into this diet, or ANY diet while ballot and choosing what parts you will follow, it is a recipe for disaster.

Perhaps that thread will put it in perspective.

Go to the library and get the book... read it. Go to the website for the newest updates... and read it. www. atkins. com You need to learn how to do this way of eating if it ' s going to be healthy, longterm and successful. There ' s much more to it than just eating low carb foods.
What are you weight loss goals? Do you have a lot or a little to lose?

Buy ( reportedly less than $5 on Amazon ) or borrow ( free at a library ) the book " Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution " and read it. eating zero carb is dangerous and bad for you! Atkins diet has four phases, each of them with slightly broader selection of foodproducts you can eat, which take you through the weightloss to maintaining your new low weight.
Also, you are required to eat vegetables and drink water, cheese is severely limited, the book also explains really well all the underlying principles - after you understand HOW exactly it works, all the " should I or shouldn ' t I " food choices become much easier.
Good luck!

I think its interesting that a lot of us are here due to poor eating habits. And some people still think that they can modify the plan, lose a bunch of weight, and sucessfully keep it off? At least for me the whole point of what I am doing is to change the way I use food in my life. Learning to try new foods, dishes, recipies. I ' m sure there will be some things I will be like... Not so much. But I think that is an important aspect to this. If we don ' t rethink just about EVERYTHING we thought about food, how can we expect to be successful?

In a nutshell, Nik, you hit the nail on the head... you / we can ' t expect permanent success without permanent changes. And you ' re so right, we didn ' t " get this way " by having a good relationship with food... or by overeating fruits and vegetables. Those food issues must be addressed at some point... not just WHAT we eat, but WHY we eat.
