Bell peppers, red, green, yellow, orange, all have some carbs. We can eat them if we count the carbs. The carb count seems virtually identical for all of them; 3. 4 grams net carb per 1 / 2 cup. The difference of 0. 1 carbs between green and red is certainly not enough to have to figure them separately.

Chili peppers have no carbs; so, if you can take the heat, I guess you can have more than one. [ / icon_smile. gif]

Good Luck!

HEy thanks Teuthis!!! you really are a finance of education! I started today!!! first day on solid atkins style living. I made up a huge bag of my own fresh salads and in a seperate bag i mixed green, yellow, orange bell peppers, cut up radishes, celery and spinach. So i scoop out a half cup of this mixture to add to my cup and a half of salad......... any suggestions on how to calculate the carbs?

I would suggest that you once cut up your vegetables, measure each of them by the volumes given in the Atkins book ' s gram carb counter, making a single serving salad with them. You should be able to closely estimate the carbs, adding up the various vegetables that you use. After that you can use that same figure all the time. I think it would be worth the effort to get that figure.

Good Luck! [ / icon_smile. gif]

Thank you for the helpful advice I am still having trouble figuring out how to calculate everything..... I think i over spent on my carbs on the first day.... althoug probably a lot less than i used to eat. I used fitday to tally my eating and had trouble finding everything i had eaten. Total for carbs came up around 25. Not exactly sure how accurate this is. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.... I attempted to do the math for the carbs but it seems to be really confusing to me.... any help with that would be great. Thanks again,
