Did I read something sometime about how if you don ' t drink enough water your weight loss will stop? If so how much exactly is enough 8 - 8oz glasses or more?

I ' m in the middle of week 4 and I ' m not seeing loss anymore, actually think I might have gone up a pound or two but I know I ' m staying in ketosis and under 20 carbs so I just want to be sure I ' m not inhibiting things some other way.

I ' m not too worried really I know it ' s normal to stop losing for a bit but I want to make sure I keep doing everything right. Thanks

Cat

No, I use Fitday and I enter everything I eat, even if I chew a piece of gum so I ' m positive about the carbs. I also have been burning about 1 / 3 more calories than I ' m eating so I know I ' m not overdoing that aspect either.

Don ' t quote me on this but, I think when the body doesn ' t hold enough water intake, it ' ll fight you and retain water if your not giving it the 8 - 8oz glasses daily. There might be some answers here in the forums about your problem. Just type in a search.

Hi Cat, read the post here about being in a stall. It talks about exactly what you are asking and gives you some possible reasons why.

Short answer is stay well hydrated. [ / icon_smile. gif]

Actually that ' s where I got the idea that it might be due to not enough water, I was just wondering how much is enough?

I have seen half of your body weight in oz. I have also seen the 8 to 10 8oz glasses a day. The surest way to tell is by urine color. You want a very [ / icon_pale. gif] to almost clear color.

At about the point at which you are in the plan, that seeming stall is normal. Don ' t worry too much about it yet. Our bodies react to the sudden loss of water and such and try to maintain by holding onto water weight. There is usually some fat loss, 1 or two pounds a week, going on too that is masked by the water weight. Give it a few weeks and see if you experience any sudden loss again. In the interim, count your carbs carefully and start learning to eat less food. If you are execising, as you must, you could be putting on some muscle too. That will really mask fat loss for a while. Have patience and keep your eye on the goal!

Good Luck! [ / icon_smile. gif]
