I had a question... Just now randomly popped into my head.
What would be - from general atkins letters - a good ( you are succeeding ) weekly weight loss for someone who is attempting to stick around the 20 grams / day carb count ( induction )? I am trying not to expect too much, but I guess if I knew what too much would be, then I could say for sure. LOL.
You hear it all the time... " I want to lose 5 pounds / week. " Myself... I ' d be happy with 3 pounds / week, but is that too much to expect?

After the initial Induction rush, for a woman ( and men lose fairly faster, you lucky b - tards, you ) a good speed is 1 - 1. 5 pounds a week, in average. But it is not a consistent number. Most often you lose nothing for a few weeks and then get a whoosh of a few pounds almost overnight. Five pounds a week is highly unlikely, miss for real heavyweights, and even then, only in the beginning.
Another method to find out would be to check out the Progress board. People report their stats there all the time.

Yeah... I thought I remembered reading the 1 - 1. 5 weekly poundage loss, when I did this diet YEARS ago. Would that be regardless of exercise or " given ZERO exercise? "
I am on my 6th week, if I ' m not mistaken. I began on Jan 2. I thought I was about to see the second wave of weight loss when I cut through 185 to 183, but I ' m still in the 184 range. I weigh daily - not to expect changes, but because I like to. lol.

For the first week, I think the range would be from 3 lbs ( not much to lose ) to 12 lbs or more ( lots to lose ). After the first week, it depends on your weight, sex, amount of muscle, exercise, metabolic resistance... you name it.
I ' ve been losing about 3 lbs per week after the first week, but I expect that if I want to keep losing that much, I ' m going to have to increase my intensity and duration of exercise as my weight goes down.
