is this allowed in induction? and if not, why so and is it introduced in OWL? i see there is now a sugar free one that has 3 net carbs per serving - i had 2 tablespoons tonight, straight out of the freezer, and it was like eating ice cream! what a delicious treat!

Hi Marinewifeandmom,
It ' s not allowed in Induction or on OWL because of the ingredients in Cool Whip. Corn syrup is the main ingredient, after water. Kraft considers the sugar trivial, but it isn ' t allowed on Atkins. It ' s also sweet with Aspartame, which you should avoid.
However, real whipped cream is allowed. Feel free to whip up a bunch, sweeten it with Splenda, and even cocoa if you want, and freeze it.
Here ' s what Kraft lists as the ingredients of Sugar - Free Cool - Whip:
WATER, CORN SYRUP *, HYDROGENATED VEGETABLE OIL ( COCONUT AND PALM KERNEL OILS ), LESS THAN 2 % OF SODIUM CASEINATE ( FROM MILK ), NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, MODIFIED CORN STARCH, XANTHAN AND GUAR GUMS, POLYSORBATE 60, SORBITAN MONOSTEARATE, SODIUM POLYPHOSPHATES, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM AND ASPARTAME * ( SWEETENERS ), BETA CAROTENE ( COLOR ). * ADDS A TRIVIAL AMOUNT OF SUGAR. * * PHENYLKETONURICS: CONTAINS PHENYLALANINE.

OMG I almost made a big mistake too. I just bought a big case of sugar free jello from Costco and I almost bought cool whip thinking it was acceptable.
