I ' ve been on induction for 4 weeks, and I love Atkins! I call it " the Bacon Diet " because I get to eat bacon. I only had 10 pounds to lose, which I lost ( however, the scale keeps going up by 2 - 3 pounds, since I weigh myself every day ).
Anyway, I ' ve been really, really disciplined. I bake cookies for the children without even tasting them, etc. However, on Super Bowl Sunday I had 2 pieces of cheesecake. I got back on track Monday, but now tonight at a Madris Gras party I had donuts. I ' m freaking out because I feel like it wasn ' t just cheating on a diet, it was eating something completely not allowed. I know that on a high - protein, high - fat diet, if I also eat carbs like donuts, I ' ll blow up like a balloon. Anyone have a similar story? I ' m beating myself up over it and could use some advise.

When I cheat, I pick cheats that are " ok " I guess. It ' s hard when you are at parties, though. You never know what they are going to have. When I plan my own, I will have some sugar free cheesecake, for example. Sugar Free ice cream and candies, as well. I find that it ' s the flavor that I want and the sugar free varieties are good enough. Again... It ' s hard at parties and occasions, but if you can find less bad options, you will serve yourself better. Or plan ahead, which isn ' t always easy. You can always be one of the guests who always brings dessert and bring something more carb friendly. My friend ' s mother would always bring me sugar free bakery cookies in addition to her regular bakery cookies.

Just try to use the lesson to your advantage to help relearn your habits - as bad as you are feeling now, just remember that feeling next time a donut stares you in the face and then you can just stare it back down & walk away [ / icon_wink. gif].
It ' s not the end of the world, especially when you learn from it [ / icon_biggrin. gif]. Just get back to it and you ' ll be fine - maybe a little bloated but drink lots o water and eat salad & the meats you ' re allowed etc. [ / icon_biggrin. gif]. You ' ll feel much better then [ / icon_biggrin. gif]. Good Luck!
Brightest Blessings,

Thanks! I feel a little better, but I ' m worried that it ' s going to happen again. Not one cheat in 4 weeks, and now 2 within 2 days!
I ' ll just keep reading my Atkins books. I have the regular one plus the induction one which I read daily like the Bible.
I think I ' ll move to OWL. I ' ve lost my goal weight, so I ' m probably bored with Induction. I eat the same thing day after day. I also need to get to the gym. I work at the daycare of a gym and get free membership. but I ' ve only been there twice! I ' ll make a move to counter those donuts!
