Well, I ' ve been doing the Atkins diet for over a year. And, I kinda fell off the wagon the last few months. I ' ve gained about 25 lbs and I am not too happy about it.
Anyway, I ' ve been back on induction for about 10 days now and I am not losing any weight. I ' ve actually gained a few.
Here is a typical daily meal structure for me, am I doing something wrong?:
Breakfast:
Eggs fried in butter with cheese or Pork Rinds and Diet Rite or a Hamburger with Cheese.
Lunch:
( 2 ) Hamburger Patties with Cheese
1 cup of salad with Blue Cheese NO Carb dressing
OR
Mcdonalds Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese ( NO BUN, Cheese only ) AND a Double Cheeseburger ( same deal )
Dinner:
( 1 - 2 ) cups of salad with no carb blue cheese with
Chicken ( fried breast ), Hamburger, Fish ( fresh, grilled ), Buffalo Wings ( hot sauce and butter, dry ), or Tuna Salad ( tuna, mayo, onions, celery )
I snack on Pork Rinds and Cheese. I drink Diet - Rite and tons of water.
That ' s it.
Does anyone see any red flags here? Is McDonalds a bad idea?

What ' s wrong? Almost no vegetables. A lot of high density meat protein. Kill the cheese for a while. That should help. It doesn ' t seem that you are eating too much. Are you exercising daily? I do think that at this point you should shift your menu to lower levels of meat, since you are not losing weight. Sometimes it just takes less of food and more of exercise to make things work. Keep at it. You may not have all that much water weight to lose right now??
Good Luck! [ / icon_smile. gif]

Aren ' t the 2 - 3 cups of salad enough? I thought I wasn ' t supposed to exceed that.
Less meat, huh? Sounds like a plan. I know I ' m eating too much cheese. I think I had about 6 - 8 oz. today alone. ( 4 slices at McDonalds and a pile of shredded cheddar with my taco lettuce wraps I had for dinner today ).

I ' d have to stand together with T.
1 ) Doesn ' t look like you are getting in enough vegetables. You have to spend them out through out the day.
2 ) Maybe not so much McDonalds.
3 ) Are you drinking a minimum of 64oz of water?
Good luck [ / icon_biggrin. gif]

Hey Twosisters,
call me innocent... but you look more than husband and wife rather than two sisters... can you give me the background on your name?

You should watch your sodium, too. I have to stay away from pork rinds - I always gain. ( as well as too much cheese ).

Alright, good plan. I ' ll cut back on the Pork Rinds.
Are Hamburgers ok? It ' s one of the only things I enjoy eating on this diet.
Hamburgers and salads. That ' s about it.

Jaxi - Twosisters is really one sister. You see, when they started there were two of them but one dropped out. Now there ' s just one.... ( and it probably is a picture of her and hubby ) [ / icon_biggrin. gif]
Jonathan - where you been?
Hamburger Man - watch those burgers. Unless you make them yourself there could be " stuff " in there like breadcrumbs and stuff. Also, they probably use ketchup in them too ( I know I used to ). Just be aware.

Agree with Batyaboo. Watch the burgers. If you buy the premade ones check the package for the carb count. Or use fresh ground meat and make your own.
And spread your veggie carbs throughout the day. Not good for weight loss to have all 20 carbs at one time. That ' s what Atkins says. I forget why.
Good luck. Stick around. The support here helps. Go look at the Pictures forum. That will be very motivational! Oh, and add some of you while you ' re there. [ / icon_wink. gif]

I ' m all about hamburgers, they rule.
I am making them myself using only 100 % pure ground beef - or - I eat McDonalds Quarter Pounders. Which I understand is also 100 % pure beef.
Do you think I should still cut back?

if you want to really drop some weight quick... try this:
Breakfast
as many eggs / bacon / sausage that wil get you full.
lunch
Chicken Wings with franks redhot sauce ( this is great )
Dinner
Tuna with mayanaise fried in olive oil with alot of cheese.
Exercise
Just do 30 mins of cardio a day. got an excercise bike? put it on the lowest level and ride as fast as you can for 30 mins. or walk at a fast pace for 30 mins..... etc
Take some type of fiber supplement, and try to squeeze a cup of salad somewhere inbetween those meals..... or your bowels wont like you very much.
and just drink lots of water, no artificial sweeteners.
do this for two weeks and the weight will slip like crazy.
