to help with weightloss.. do you think that not having any cheeses, sour cream, whipping cream, and cream cheese would be ok.. i know that you can have up to 4oz. a day.. but i feel as if they may play a role in stunting my loss.. i feel that i without reservation have become dependant on those mock danishes.. but they seem too good to be true [ / icon_smile. gif] So i think i will go back to havin my regular eggs and bacon or sausage in the morning, or omelettes with veggies [ / icon_smile. gif]

One of the ideas Dr. Atkins suggested for " stalls " etc, is to eliminate cheese. I think that one ounce a day is a fair maximum. I use cheese strictly for flavor, in small amounts; in vegetables or to morsel.
I believe that if we learn to use the high density food items, such as cheese, meats, butter, in dialectics, we can enjoy them for the flavor and avoid having them stall us out. I eat 4 - 5 ounce portions of proteins, and not more than one ounce of cheese in a day. I get my food spot from vegetables. Despite the carbs in vegetables, it is difficult to eat enough of them to get too many carbs, and certainly almost impossible to get too many calories.
If you are stalled, I suggest that you cut back on the fats and proteins, and replace that home with vegetables.
Good Luck! [ / icon_smile. gif]

I decided to give up all those extra goodies ( Mock Danishes, cheeses, sour cream, etc ) last week ( 8th week of Induction ). I did like you said and just went back to my eggs ' n bacon or sausage for breakfast and ate lots of veggies. I had a huge weight loss ( 5. 4lbs ) which was the same amount of weight I lost in my 2nd week of induction. I also did a lot of walking so that may be a part of it. NEways, my point is I think that reducing these items and even eliminating them entirely may be a good way to increase the speed of your weight loss. It seemed to work for me and I ' m going to keep trying this.

wow.. do you think cutting out salad dressings would help too? what about the dressings that are absolutely 0 carbs ( because they use a little splenda i guess )

It does help for me, a serving of dressing has almost 200 calories, who uses just a measly 2 tsp for a huge salad anyways? thats no fun. Dressing can be high calorie stuff. I use Walden Farms, its calorie free, sugar free and carb free, surprisingly... its not disgusting either. Those little nips and tucks make a huge difference though.
