Hi I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Tracy, I ' m married and have 3 kids, live in the Midwest!
I have been following Atkins Induction for about 4 weeks now. I did have a bad slip - up early on but got right back on track the next day. I am not saying I haven ' t had a bite of something forbidden SINCE then but it has been very minimal. For mothers day my parents got me chocolate covered strawberries and I also got some thin mints! So I had one strawberry last night and one tonight, the rest of the candy is going to my family. So it hasn ' t been perfect, but I ' m doing the best I can. I have lost a total of 12lbs. so far. It ' s been tough for me to learn how to change my eating habits as food has always been so important to me but I ' m going to stick with it!

12lbs is great! That ' s exactly how much I ' ve lost, feels good doesn ' t it?
Also, those chocolate covered strawberries sound really good, definitely worth a sneaky cheat ( don ' t tell anyone I said that! ) If there ' s any left over send ' em my way! [ / icon_wink. gif]

It can be hard to deal with gifts of food. Giving the mints to your family is a great idea.
On Induction, though, chocolate covered strawberries can really set you back. There ' s more room for variations like that during OWL.
I have told most people who know me well enough to give me a gift, that I am doing Atkins. Even so, I ' ve received food gifts that the gift - giver knows is not on my food plan. I just thank them and then serve it to whoever is nearby.
I ' m not sure if our loved ones forget what we ' ve committed to eat, or if they don ' t agree with our decision, so they sabotage it. Either way, we need to be firm.
