I ate too much at lunch. I knew that I was full, had enough to eat, but I still ate two more chicken wings. I really don ' t like to feel full when I eat and after that I cetainly did. I cut way back on dinner; just a snack really. But I am upset that I didn ' t heed my body and stop eating at lunch. I think I ate because I wanted to; and that ' s one of the worst diet sins in my book. I guess I ' m ok for the day on food spot but I just didn ' t like that gluttonous faux pas at lunch. You have to plan for every bite I guess.

I eat all the time. Espescially if I am home. THis weekend I didn ' t eat enough and I lost 3 more pounds. I am really worried. I ' ll have to eat more today. I don ' t want to lose that fast!!!

T, you are so self - controlled, such a stern disciplinarian and set such high standards for yourself that I doubt very much that you actually overate.
You ' ve shrunk your stomach largely. My thought is that your body ' s need for food was greater than your capacity to sway it. I believe you did heed your body by eating the two extra wings. Two chicken wings teem with a relatively small amount of extra food. A " gluttonous faux pas " might be two extra breasts, not two wings.
You need to value your acumen more highly my friend, as we do. [ / icon_smile. gif]

Of course! You are a " god " on this board! Cut yourself a cramped lilliputian bit of slack! You ' ve been such a great help to me through your posts! Be realistic - - with all the exercise you do, in the grand scheme of things 2 chicken wings don ' t mean all that much. It was one day, not every day!

T,
As with everyone here, I am proud of you and don ' t think you bad at all. The good thing is that you recognize what you did and stopped yourself instead of thinking that you blew it and then did some real damage.
Keep up the great work!

Teuthis, thanks for a great post. It ' s important for other folks to see this and see themselves in the situation. It helps generate ideas for how to handle the situation and generates a good discussion.
Two important things I got from this post:
1 ) you recognized that " something " made you want to eat more than you otherwise would have.
2 ) you didn ' t let it sideline you, but kept on and made an adjustment as best you could at dinner.
Things to think about:
1 ) What was it that made you want to eat more than you would have otherwise? Is there some particular stress or was it simply an enjoyment of the food and a decision to eat more? Or something else?
2 ) Try not to be too hard on yourself. You are a wonderful role model and perhaps your own worst enemy. Fortunately, I think I know you well enough that being upset about over indulging will not make you go crazy with the diet. Other folks may not have the same will power.
Looking at some of these things are how we address our own personal issues with food and self. I encourage everyone to think about their own motivations when they are tempted or " fall off the wagon ". Only if we look at them will we be able to conquer them.
Great post, Teuthis. Discussion anyone?
