what is the best way to add fibre to your diet? I am semi - constipated ( if there is such a thing! ) and thought people might have some good tips and remedies. I don ' t want to rely on laxatives and I don ' t know where to get psyllium husks ( sp ) as they don ' t seem to sell them in most shops.
Any good veg to eat?

For the psyllium husks, places like GNC, Vitamin Shoppe, or many health food stores should bear them. Also places like trader joes take them too.

Two other important things, later fiber, are making sure you are drinking water all day and go for a long walk. Water + exercise + fiber = regularity. [ / icon_smile. gif]
Eating your veggies raw and unpeeled ( like cucumbers ) is helpful, too.

Another tip: be sure you are getting a good variety of vegetables and eating the full three cups every day. Don ' t just eat lettuce - - it has very little fiber. Mushrooms are on the Salad Vegetables list and have a good amount of fiber.
You can have half an avocado each day ( also high in fiber ), as long as it doesn ' t stall your weight loss.
Among the " Other Vegetables " that you need to limit to one cup per day, these are high in fiber:
String or wax beans
Brussels sprouts
Psyllium husks are sometimes sold under a brand name like Metamucil, but be careful that it has no added sugar or other additional carbs.

Thankyou, all of your answers are incredibly helpful. Funnily enough, I drank loads of water yesterday and went for a walk in the evening with my boyfriend and had eaten lots of salad with supper and this morning - hey presto - I seem to have lost 3 pounds!
Seriously! I had been at the same weight for about 4 days and then Woosh! I go down 3 pounds!! Fantastic!
