It may have 0 carbs, but it effects your weight loss just the same.
This is what Atkins had to say about alcohol...
" The body burns alcohol for fuel when alcohol is available. So when it is burning alcohol, your body will not burn fat. This does not stop weight loss; it easy postpones it. " You can read more on page 181 of DANDR if you have the 2002 issue.
And, as Ron said, it ' s not ok for induction. Later on it ' s a personal choice.

Also remember to limit what you drink. Don ' t have too much because like Tril said, it ' s only going to postpone your progress.

I have found that alcohol has a much faster and stronger impact on me when I ' m on induction then when I ' m not - be aware you may become drunk much faster then you are used to.
Also, alcohol often leads to eating an excess of easy finger foods if they are around - pizza, too many nuts, pretzels, chips, etc...

I think i must relate this tale.
In college we had some good times... and Gumby ' s Pizza. For anyone who knows it, they make the greasiest, but not hte best, cheesesticks ever.
This neighbor came over and we got him way too smashed, he passed out and we ordered pizza. We of course ordered way too much, and never even touched the cheesesticks. We opened all the boxes on the floor around his immobile body. When we woke up in the morning, he had rolled over and slept using the cheesesticks as a pillow for his face the entire night. THe butter and cheese literally seeped into his skin. Not since high school had I seen zits like that.... and apparently to this day he still cant eat cheesesticks any more.
