Reading through some of the threads & there seems to be a common theme, that you really must exercise.
I have a bit of a problem here, during my pregnancy & birth I had a problem with my pelvis & back & couldnat walk for four months. I have made brilliant progress in these last two months & now walk 2 - 3 miles every day, sometimes more.
But for now, other than a few core strengthening exercises, I ' m not allowed to do anything else.
Do you think this is ok? I physique on my distance each week & do walk at a brisk tread.

ambulatory is positively perfect. you just need to make sure that your heartrate is constantly elevated for at least 20 - 30 minutes. if you go longer, you will burn pure fat. Here ' s how...
This is a quick guide used by trainers / athletes... Take 220 - your age. This is roughly your maximum heart rate. Now, for high - intensity exercising, your heart - rate should be at 85 % of this number for at least 20 minutes. For moderate exercising, keep your heart - rate around 70 - 80 % of this number. For optimal fat - burning, keep your heart CONSISTENTLY beating at about 70 % of your maximum heart rate for at least 40 minutes. If you can, go for 60 minutes. Every minute past the 30 minute mark, when your heart is pumping at 70 % of maximum, is 100 % pure fat burn.
So, if I wanted to exercise at optimal fat burn rate, I would do:
220 - 31 ( my age ) = 189 ( max heart rate ). 70 % of 189 = 132 beats per minute.
Burn, baby, burn. [ / icon_cool. gif]
