Peanut Butter - the real stuff.
Not the all - natural or any organic stuff.
I ' m talking JIF Creamy and the label says:
Serving Size: 2 Tbsp.
Total Carb 7g
Dietary Fiber 2g
Sugars 3g
So, is this net carb 5g
Now, I just ate 1 Tbsp ( yes, I measured it out ), so that ' s a half serving.
So, that means I ate 2. 5g of carbs.
Today, is my day 15. I have been T - Totally legal with the diet to this point, with the exception of having 10 pecan halves on some days - about 9 - 10 of the first 14 days.
So... the question....
How bad is the 1 Tbsp of Pnut Butter? Is this okay for an occassional treat?

Peanut butter is allowed after Induction, but not during it. And, if you are going to have peanut butter, you should get the kind that doesn ' t have added sugar.
Also, consider almond butter if you can get it. It ' s better for you and super - tasty. At our local grocery store, you can get pure almond butter with no additives at all, ground by a machine before your eyes. Yum.
Again, nuts are not allowed on Induction, but it ' s one of the first things you can add during OWL - - Ongoing Weight Loss.

or you can make your own peanut butter ( or almond butter ). Just whizz up some nuts and a bit of olive oil. You can add splenda for added cordiality, too! [ / icon_cool. gif]

The idea of low - carb cheesecake does sound good... just maybe one with less ingredients would be better.

ok, heyla, you ready for this???? [ / icon_eek. gif]
Here is a Stainless and DELICIOUS very low carb cheesecake.
Here you go:
Ingredients:
8 oz ( 250 gr ) cream cheese ( MUST BE ROOM TEMP )
1 / 2 C Double Cream
3 / 4 C Splenda
5 eggs ( MUST BE ROOM TEMP )
1 1 / 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 350F / 180C
Blend ( I use one of those one - hand mixers that I bought for a fiver ) all the ingredients cool so that there are no lumps. Should take about 20 - 30 secs. Pour into a greased baking dish. Bake in oven for about 45 mins but check it earlier because ovens vary. stick a machete in it and if it comes out dry its done. When you take it out it will look like a massive souffle ( very pufffy ). Let it settle down and cool on counter. After cooled, I stick it in the fridge overnight for maximum density and affluence. ( note: if you eat it warm from the oven it tastes like a vanilla souffle; however, after being chilled in fridge overnight, it takes like a creamy delicious cheesecake. YUM )
carbs are about 20 - ish for the whole cake. you could have fun with it by doing a nut crust, adding a berry coulis on top ( whizz frozen berries with some splenda and a dash of water ) and whipped cream or putting cocoa powder or lemon juice in the mix. but you must add these extra carbs.
Enjoy! [ / icon_cool. gif]

Mmmmmmm thanks. Sounds good.
Does C stand for cup? How big is a cup? Cos I only have mugs... What ' s the equivelant in grams?
I might try that tonight... Although I ' d have to make sure someone was there to tackle if I tried to eat it all... which is highly likely!

its tough to equate one cup with grams because it depends on what you are measuring. by the way, you could probably use about 2 / 3 of a normal coffee mug or just head over to tescos / asda / sainsburys and buy a cup set. i would estimate its about 200 grams per cup, so maybe try 100 grams of the cream and 150 grams of the splenda???
its a truly delicious cheesecake and even if you went nuts and ate it all its STILL better than going off with sausage rolls and rolos!! [ / icon_cool. gif]

p. s. here is an even easier recipe - - if you like egg custard tarts!
1 / 2 ( 100 mls ) cup double cream
2 eggs
1 tablespoon Splenda
1 tablespoon vanilla extract - - or sugar free syrup
Nutmeg or cinnamon, as desired.
mix eggs well, add in cream, splenda, vanilla and cinnamon / nutmeg. stick in microwave safe dish and heat on 50 % power for about 5 - 6 minutes but check as microwaves vary. let cool and stick in fridge. serve chilled - - maybe with a dollop of whipped cream on top and a rasberry!
Total carbs is about 4, so induction safe!
Enjoy [ / icon_cool. gif]

I had polos not rolos! Not that that makes it much better!
Thanks for the cheesecake recipe. I ' ll try and make some for after my next exam so I ' ve got some nice comforting food to drown my sorrows in... and also some of the egg custard... I might just miss out proper food altogether and live of that. [ / icon_rolleyes. gif]

lol - i used to go nuts for tesco egg custard tarts. you know, the ones with the nutmeg on top in the chiller section? i could literally eat 2 packs of 4 - - 8 tarts! - - in one go. then have the craps for a day [ / icon_eek. gif]
definitely have some lovely low - carb treats at home when you finish your exam. whatever works for you - - sweet or savoury!! if you know you have great stuff waiting for you in the fridge you will be less tempted to cheat!!!!

double cream is the same as heavy cream. go for the really good, high quality stuff. if there is a thick layer of solid cream above the liquid then you are on the right path.
the cheesecake is definitely allowed on induction and its the easiest thing EVER to make. If you have a slow metabolism, please do EXERCISE. I do it 6 days a week and I am quite certain that if I didn ' t, losing weight would be much more difficult.
EXERCISE does a body good! Burn, baby, burn! [ / icon_cool. gif]

Search the recipe section for no bake cheesecake. I make that when I fancy something yummy and its very easy to make. Just blend all ingredients, then bung in fridge.
