I was in Kroger last night and they had California shelled almonds 3g carb and 3g fiber. A serving is about 15 ( 1 / 4 cup ) The bad news is they are 210 calories & 20g fat. They make a yummy snack though. First carb free nuts I ' ve found.

Almonds are not carb free, sorry. No matter how you prepare them, they ' ll have some carbs. Raw almonds have 19. 8 g carbs per 100g, of which 11. 8 is fiber and 4. 8 sugar. In a 1 / 4 cup it is respectively 7. 06, 4. 2 and 1. 7.
Dry roasted, almonds have 12 g fat in 1 / 4 cup, so I guess yours were roasted in oil.
Anyway, it seems that the manufacturer of your brand of almonds counts fiber separately from the carbs, the European way.
I am not aware of any carb - free foods other than straight fat.
PS Manufacturers are repeatedly not to be trusted - I use the US government database:

I eat walnuts and almonds ( about a small handfull each day of some type of nut ) as a snack and I ' ve lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks so far. Everyone is different and I ' m sure there are some people who maybe nuts wouldn ' t work well for but in my case it ' s been helpful to fill me up enough so that I will not feel hungry and will stick to the atkins diet. Certainly if you don ' t want to chance it on induction then try some out as soon as you are in the next phase and see if they are helpful with your weightloss or not.

I love nuts myself, they are very healthy and OK to have ( after Induction... ). They have lots of minerals and nutrients. You just have to count the carbs.
