No. Carbs in sweeteners come not from the sweetening substance itself, but from other things which are added to it to keep it flowing, or, in case of tablets, to keep it well-adjusted. Powdered sweeteners are often mixed with maltodextrin, which is very high in carbs, so they have to be counted as 1 carb per teaspoon / packet.
Tablets have different additives ( lactose, as tablet binder ), and one tablet of Canderel, according to manufacturer ' s info, has 62 miligrams carbohydrate. That ' s 0. 062 grams. You ' d have to eat 15 of them to reach one carb.

Splenda - based syrups are completely carb free, as sucralose in liquid form has no carbs.
However, Canderel is based on aspartame, which is not a recommended sweetener on Atkins - some people have adverse reactions to it. On the other hand, I don ' t know about UK, but in Poland Splenda is not available at all ( just the syrups ), so I use aspartame myself - the only other low - carb swetener available here is the sodium cyclamate, and that one makes me retain water like crazy. So, lesser of two evils.
