Almost every site I ' ve searched about sucralose makes a statement something like this:
Quote:
Sucralose is not recognized by the body as sugar or as a carbohydrate. It is not metabolized by the body for energy and does not affect blood glucose levels
If this is true, why is it counted it our daily allotment of carbohydrates?
Why isn ' t it counted the same as fiber carbohydrates; it ' s subtracted from the total carb count to give the Net carb total?

jbb, liquid sucraslose ( like in soft drinks ) has zero carbs. The white " crystalized " slpenda / sucralose has something added to it? ( maltodextrin? I can ' t remember... ) to get it in the powerdery usable form. This is what has the carbs. There are some old posts on here explaining exactly what is going on, try doing a search on Splenda.
good luck.
