The wife is having a bit of a crisis moment this morning. Here is the basic crux of it.
Yesterday I posted at having lost down to 228, a net loss of 13 pounds since January 8. I spent a few weeks plateaued where my weight fluctuated until I discovered the carbs in Splenda and half - and - half which were delightful my daily carb counts. I brought that back down and am losing again.
But not my wife. Cutie started on January 15 and lost five pounds after about three weeks and has floated back up ever since. This morning witch is one pound under where witch was when gal started. Her carb intake this entire time has been below 20g of carbs per day, most days have been around 10g.
Female ' s distraught and nothing I have said this morning has helped. Coed thought canary could handle the lifestyle change with a bit of Lavash bread and flax - seed waffles and flax cereal, but now jail bait thinks broad will have to go total zero - carb and eat nothing but meat and the thought has evidently pushed her to the edge. Lots of sorrow today.
Any ideas?
[EDIT! Babe also believes that if a very - low or zero - carb diet gets her down to her ideal weight, minx will be stuck there whopping and will never be able to add any carbs back for fear of gaining the weight back. This seems to be a BIG sticking point for her]

zero carbs is bad... woman must take 20g of carbs everyday...
look at Atkins like a new lifestyle rather then a tool to diminish weight
i haven't lost much but i am still satisfied coz i understand my body will take time to get rid of all the fat i have stored for years...
i would say don't let this fat take you down...
Enjoy this rather then getting depressed by magnificent it …

I think your wife needs to increase her carbs a bit. If lassie is recurrently below 20 and more like 10 carbs per day I would wager minx isn ' t eating many if any veggies. I would suggest miss try more veggies and get lots of fiber. There have been many times when I have been really strict and had no results and then relaxed and added back some carbs and suddenly lost weight. Also, tell her to never, never compare herself to you. Men and women are so different. Seriously, men seem to drop 5 lbs like it ' s nothing while women striving for every pound. As far as maintaining after weight loss, no skirt will not have to eat very low carb whopping. Just eat a sensible lowER carb diet. And that doesn ' t mean that we can ' t enjoy carby stuff once in a while. Just not every day. It gets easier, really it does. Tell her to hang in there. Mouse ' s doing fine.

Dame ' s getting at least 16g of fiber a day via flaxseed meal in waffles and hot cereal. And virgin ' s not comparing herself to me. Girl ' s distraught because deb gained back four pounds while on a very carb - specialized regimen ( among other things )

my weight fluctuates in and around 6 pounds and has been doing that for about 3 weeks... up.. down... up.. etc. My boyfriend on the other hand who eats exactly the same thing as me has been steadily and slowly losing much like yourself. Womens ' bodies behave in a totally different manner thanks to hormones. It really does take time and patience, please reassure her that she ' s not alone! I agree with Dawn125, more vegetables might help to balance things out.. and maybe try stepping on the scale once a week.. seeing that daily number rise and fall really messes with your head!

I doubt I wil be very helpful, but... can you put the scale away? How often is she weighing herself? I had tears yesterday, too. i realised that i have to focus on how I am feeling not how I am weighing. If I weigh less then I might overeat, if I weigh too much I might overeat.
Could she be getting some hidden carbs in her diet?
She will not be able to think if she goes no carbs. Then she will end up eating a whole loaf of french bread!
Come on woman! The scale is not our friend!

OK, I have mentioned weighing less often to her, and have intended to do it myself, but this seems to be an opportune moment. I ' m not asking, I ' m just going to hide it!

Is your energy any better? If so, do you have any tips? I am so tired again.
I got a very good rest last night, so maybe that will be the trick.

Funny you should mention that. Yes, I feel more energy the last few days. All I can think of is that I forgot to take my multivitamin.....
I know, doesn ' t make sense.

OK, I just got through writing a huge big ol message, and the anti - spam bot or programming or whatever didn ' t let me post it. I ' ll try and copy it here and change it a bit...
Hi, I think I might know what your wife is going through. I started low - carbing and exercising on 2 Jan. My weight went down about 8 pounds, and then back up and all over the place. My obsession with my weight made me a complete fruitcake. I was so hooked on that number that I wasn ' t paying attention to my centimeters, which were going down really fast all the time and still are. I post my results at my webpage if you are interested. I ' ve lost about 40 cm from around my thighs, hips, waist and chest. No real pattern shows up for my weight. I ' ve shrunk so much though that I ' m expecting a real drop in weight soon, and I am amazed at how my body will hang on to water or convert fat to muscle at a speed that maintains my weight.

waffels and hot cereal.
Is she measuring the ingreedients carefully when she makes these?
If the recipie says it makes 4 servings... is she getting 4 servings out of it?
What is her recipie?
I see lots of ways these two items could add lots of uncounted carbs to a day.

I always advocate removing practically any processed non - natural food from the diet, especially during Atkins. Some people are really sensitive and can stall.
On the other hand Manu ' s point does ring true as well, why weight is retained while size is diminished is something of a mystery to me at times.
If you are absolutely committed and none of the above works, go tuna at the end of the day your last three or four hours before retiring should be tuna. But that is a horrible thing to do to your body and you will need to drink lots of water. The problem with just tuna is the zero fat, this stresses the body out tremendously, however a concluding meal or even snack for the day it can be ok.

It is partly due to a fact, that when fat from an adipose cell is burned, it is temporarily replaced by water until the cell wall can shrink. Water is much, much heavier than fat, so weight remains the same, but cells are shrinking, so size gets smaller.
