I thought i would lose more than 5lbs as i keep reading people losing 11 and 13 lbs.. is this normal or am i doing something wrong.
two days ago i was actually 7lbs down but today its 5lbs does that mean im still retaining water? i try to drink i full pint of water when im thirsty, atleast 5 - 6 pint fulls a day.
eating veg for dinner, meat or chichen in the afternoon and egg in the morning with cheese.. maybe its my food?
i feel really down... not that im gona give up im gona keep going till i someone says to me " oh have u lost weight " and i will reply..
" no ive always looked like this " lolz

It depends on how much you have to lose. People who lose eleven or thirteen either have a lot to lose or its the amount for two weeks rather one. Keep going, two more pound to the half a stone mark! [ / icon_biggrin. gif]

You should not be discouraged. 5 lbs in the first week is beyond average actually. Anything over that is exceptional. You may find you lose another 5 lbs in your second week which would bring you to a total of 10 lbs in your 2 week induction. Most people that you have lost 10 - 13 lbs in induction, are talking about their full 2 weeks.
keep up the good work!!!!

if you want an honest opinion, put up some stats ( i. e., starting weight, goal weight, food and water intake, exercise regime, etc. )
Regardless, 5 lbs in one week is certainly impressive. Now, keep it off! [ / icon_cool. gif]

Heck... I ' m on day 13 and I ' ve lost 6. 5. 6 of which I lost the first 4 days. It all depends on YOUR body how much you ' ll lose. 6. 5 is more than 25 % of what I want to lose. I ' m quite happy with that.

I was going to say, Tril, based on your photo you look as though you are VERY close to goal weight! [ / icon_cool. gif]

Sona, I weighed 285 lbs at my highest. I started Atkins at 277. My body will lose more easily at first, because I am hauling around so much weight. I mean, really... can you imagine getting up and walking everyday, all day, with that much on your feet? I am only 5 ' 2 " tall, and have no idea what I should weigh, because I have always been seriously obese.
If you have less to lose, you will lose more slowly than I did the first week. I expect my weight loss to slow to a crawl eventually. But hey, crawling is far better than putting on weight!

wmc... I am, thankfully! I ' d like to lose 12# to get me back to a total of 100# difference from my highest ever ( recorded ) wt. I was a little under that when my avatar picture was taken. I think I weighed 118 - 120 in that. I need to get back down close to that if my clothes are going to fit again. LOL

I have, but not all at once... From my highest weight ever ( age 26 ) of 225 to my lowest adult weight ever ( age 46 ) of 115. 5 there ' s a 100 + difference. Now I like to stay under 125, which would maintain my 100# difference. I did that for quite awhile... then had some family issues that I dealt with first by not eating ( thus the 115. 5 ) and then by eating ( thus the regain to 143. 5 ). Now I ' m back in the saddle and on my way ( weigh! ) down again.

I started at about 202lb about 92kg, this includes my prev weight and baby weight from my little boy who is 3 months old now... and im also 5 ' 2.
I hope to go down to 60kg at least about 9. 5 stone and 135lbs, i will be happy with that.
Start weight: 202. 9lbs
week 1: 198. 2 lbs
week 2: hope to lose SOMETHING, at the moment it seems to be stuck!
