Green beans... I bought some fresh ones for dinner tonight, but they ' re not on the P1 Induction list. Anyone know why? They ' re in the book at 1 / 2 cup for 2. 9 net carbs, so they ' re not TOTALLY forbidden. I ' m still going to eat them...

I buy the packaged pre - cut snap beans from Costco and eat them all the time. My favorite is with a little butter wrapped in foil and thrown on the grill. After they are cooked open the foil a little to let them take on some of that smokey flavor. UMMM
I have not been able to find them in the book either but reading the label they looked safe so I figured it was just an oversight.

green beans are probably classified with the string and wax beans. You should only have 1 cup a day.

Darn... great suggestion, Smer, but string / wax beans aren ' t on the lists in my book or on the Atkins website. Here ' s a link to the Approved Foods List for Induction. http: / / 70. 47. 24. 96 / atkins / acceptable - foods - phase1. php Maybe someone else can find them there... I can ' t! LOL
I figured one cup would be the limit... since it ' s 2 cups of salad greens and one cup other " approved " veggies. 1 / 2 cup has 2. 9 net grams carb, which is right in the middle of other approved veggies.

You ' ve been robbed Tril!!!! [ / icon_smile. gif] I have the 2002 book and under the " other vegetables " they are listed.
In the same book on the carb counter it has green beans listed as 6. 8 for a boiledd cup and yellow or wax beans as 5. 8 for a boiled cup.
