* Puts hand up * Me. I fell off the wagon today. Stupid reasons. And I ' m Very upset. But we ' ve just got to move onward in a positive direction. It took me years to get to this weight because of bad habits learned. We can ' t eradicate those bad habits by magic. But we can work at it and get better. I want to get better and I know you do too. We can do this! [ / icon_biggrin. gif]

Habits are hard to break... especially life long habits. Most people who struggle with a weight issue use food for more than fuel. We use it for comfort, celebration, boredom, fears, etc. Put us in an emotional situation ( being afraid, lonely, bored, or even happy ) and we are self conditioned to reach for something to eat... that conditioning doesn ' t go away until you replace that behavior with a new behavior. That ' s why it ' s SO HARD in the beginning... before you ' ve replaced eating in response to an emotional event with not eating as a response. We often don ' t know what ELSE to do!!!
Once it ' s happened there ' s only one thing you can do... forgive youself. Recognize that this is a learning process. Figure out what it was that tipped you over... really think about it. How could you avoid getting to that point the next time? Better planning? More sleep? More water? Avoid certain people or situations? Then try to figure out something that you could have done differently... what behavior could you replace it with that would keep you from eating off plan??
The next step is to move on. Get right back on plan. No waiting until the next meal or the next day... or week. [ / icon_wink. gif] Just never, ever give up.
