Wow, I thought I would never do it. I mean this is Mrs Method here. I was in the adjustment of means carb - intake, and I just couldn ' t get off them! I tried and tried, but no matter how I made menu ' s, or planned my day, it just somehow never came well-organized.
But I changed Dr ' s this week, and my last doc had been like, well, whatever you want to do, it really is up to you... Witch was an alternative doc. Not really a medical doc like I feel I need when I trot up against a serious disease.
I weighed in this week at the new doc ' s office, and I almost screamed at the scale when it registered 277 lbs! I haven ' t been that high since at least 2 years ago! But then the dr said I was barely diabetic... conceivably my chickens are coming home to roost.
Anyhow, they are doing a new blood test for diabetic measurements this next week, and I am sunny it will be better than what showed at the old Dr ' s office. Of course, it will all be on the records.
I give all the credit for my sticking to it, to my Jesus! I know that without His strength, I would not make it.
But I have been low - carb now for 2 days, and feel great! Much better than when I was having cravings for a blood - sugar boost every 2 hours.
My own bathroom scales says I have lost about 5 lbs. Of course, I know, it ' s fluid. But hey, at least I am not retaining fluid so much now!
I will not register my weight according to my own scales. I know they are not accurate. But I can drop in at my Dr ' s and weigh in every week, and record that weight as official.
Karenjs, you have been a tremendous inspiration to me, as you faced my monster at about my age, and won!
I am 45 years old, divorced, 2 kids of my own, and 2 more little foster kids.
Starting weight 277.
I ' ll aim for the first 50 lbs off first, then hit the next 50, and so on, I have no idea what I should weigh.
I am borderline diabetic.
And going all the way, with God ' s help.

Hi, and thanks for your support! It is still going well. I am eating loads of raw veggies, and only getting 13 - 17 carbs a day. Feeling great, too!

ARGH I am angry enough to spit!
I ordered an unsweetened iced tea at Hardees this evening to go with my lo carb burger... and then I put in two packets of saccharin sweetener, and then tasted it. Wow, I thought, this is much sweeter than I usually think it is with two packets. maybe my tastes are changing... later it hits me. DUH. That is sugary iced tea I have been slurping on!
I think I consumed about 4 oz. Not sure. But man, I am so upset. I should have tasted it before adding the sweetener! I know I will from now on!

Isn ' t that just the MOST frustrating thing??? YOU chose the right thing and someone else messed you up!!! I often order water at restaurants that serve fountain sodas ( unless I can dispense it myself or watch them do it ) because I just don ' t trust everyone to hear the word DIET and remember it when they hit the button...
I guess the best thing you can do is learn from this so you can avoid it in the future. I ' m sure it ' s happened to lots of people and they just never knew it. Sorry it happened to you, though. [ / icon_sad. gif]

Hi, trish! yes. but I am over my mad. Too many things happened that day! First, my usually sweet and caring 15 yr old was short with me. Then the computer at the library refused to allow me to put my ticker on here. Then The sweetened iced tea fiasco, and then the meeting I drove 30 miles to attend, was not that evening after all! Big argh.
Thanks for being here, and letting me vent.
