Hi I am on day 3 of the induction phase
How do you know you are in ketos??
My daily menu has been consisting of
Day 1
Breakfast Decaff Black Coffee
Pepper omlette
Lunch
Chicken Salad
Dinner
Chicken Stir fry
Day 2
Breakfast Decaff Black Coffee
Tomatoes and Cheese ( I am at work no facilitys to cook )
Lunch salad with chopped cheese
Dinner: Chicken Salad
Planned menu today
Day 3
Breakfast Decaff Black Coffee
Tomatoes and Cheese ( at work )
Lunch Salad
Dinner huge peppers with Mincemeat ( spiced )
I hope this is right I have also been drinking my 4 pints of water

To be sure you are in Ketosis you can buy ketone testing strips.
You are most likely in ketosis if you are losing weight pretty regularly if you are following the Atkins diet correctly. You have gotten more energenic, you don ' t get tired in the middle of the day.
Some people get a little bit of diahrea - sp when their metabolism switches over. This is your body flushes the excess fluid.

Hi Tohook,
last week my energy levels sunk big time by 9pm I was struggling to keep my eyes open, but since saturday I been great energy levels are back.
I assume with this that I am in ketosis.

Most likely. Some people do have the energy drain after a couple of days. I assume it ' s be cause they body is still looking for their previous source of energy, carbohydrates. When your energy levels rise up again, it usually means your body has switched it ' s energy source to what is available fat.
Now, during this time you probably lost a bit of weight. That ' s good. You should see a steady amount of weight loss afterwords too. After your two weeks is done, you ' ll know what kind of metabolic resistance your body has by the amount of weight you lost. I ' d have to look at the book to see. This gives an indication of how hard or easy it will be for you to lose weight.10 октября 2008 г.
